Augustine, the bishop of Hippo Regius (North Africa) says that his book "On the Only Baptism against Petilian" was occasioned by a book of Petilian being given to Augustine`s friend by a Donatist presbyter (AD 410/411). Augustine, "Retractions", AD 426/427.

Eodem tempore librum de unico baptismo amicus quidam meus a nescio quo Donatista presbytero accepit, indicante quod Petilianus episcopus eorum Constantiniensis eum scripserit. Hunc ad me ille attulit ac uehementer ut ei responderem rogauit; et factum est.

At the same time a certain friend of mine received a book on the baptism from some Donatist presbyter of other, who indicated that Petilian, a bishop of theirs at Constantine, wrote it.
