According to Canon 101 of the Breviary of Ferrandus of Carthage (North Africa, AD 523/546, repeating earlier norms) if a presbyter or a deacon separates himself from the Church and establishes an altar in his house, he shall be deposed.
Canon 101

Vt presbyter uel diaconus qui se ab ecclesia segregauerit et in domo sua altare erexerit, deponatur.
Concilio Antiocheno, tit. 5. Concilio Carthaginensi, tit. 7.

(ed. Munier 1974: 296)
Canon 101

If a presbyter or a deacon separates himself from the Church and establishes an altar in his house, he shall be deposed.
The Council of Antioch, title 5. The Council of Carthage, title 7.

(trans. S. Adamiak)

Discussion:

The canon repeats the norm of Canon 5 of the Council of Antioch (AD 341) and Canon 8 of the Council of Carthage (AD 390, [160]), which however, deals with the presbyters who have been excommunicated before; the reference to 'establishing their own altar' may have implied the collusion with the Donatists.
