Discussion:

We know that Asfalius was from Castulo, because his bishop Perseverantius signed the canons of the Fourth Council of Toledo as "episcopus Castelonensis" (PRVT 281 Perseverantius).

About the source:

Title: Fifth Council of Toledo 636 AD, Concilium Toletanum quintum a. 636, Concilium V Toletanum
Origin: Toledo (Iberian Peninsula)
Denomination: Catholic/Nicene/Chalcedonian
The Fifth Council of Toledo was held shortly after the death of Isidore of Seville and also in the first year of the reign of King Chintila who replaced King Sisenand. The main preoccupation of the council was the security of the king, his family and followers. Chintila must have been worried about the safety of his throne and looked for the ecclesiastical endorsement. The council was held under the presidency of Eugenius I, bishop of Toledo. Twenty-two other bishops were present and two deputies of absentees. See (Collins 2004: 80-81).
