The Council of Egara (Iberian Peninsula, AD 614) confirms the constitutions of the Council of Huesca (Iberian Peninsula, AD 598). Presbyter Maximus subscribes the acts on behalf of his bishop Stephen of un unknown see in the province of Tarragona (Iberian Peninsula).

Convenientes in unum episcopi provinciae Terraconensis in locum Egara, id sancta instituit synodus ut constitutio quae dudum in anno tertio decimo regni divae memoriae Recaredi regis in concilio Oscense, constituta quidem sed minime conscribta fuit, confirmata et in perpetuum valitura perduret; et omne quicquid ex castimonia presbyterorum et inferius clericorum conscribta sunt eandem formam et de omnibus episcopis sub tali industria sollertiaque omni tempore pepigendo scrutetur, ut auxiliante Domino et adminiculante tali vitae sollicitudinem nulla, quod absit, reprehensionis occasio subrippere aliquando praevaleat.

The bishops of the province of Tarragona gathered together in the place called Egara and the holy council decreed that the constitution that had been recently promulgated (but not ratified) in the thirteenth year of the reign of King Reccared of holy memory in the Council of Huesca should be confirmed and valid forever. Everything that was decreed on the chastity of presbyters and lower clergy is confirmed in the same form and all the bishops will be examined as to whether they continually execute this decree with great care and diligence, so that with help and support of the Lord no blameful occasion whatever (let it not happen!) will be able to remove the care for this way of life.
