Canon 3 of the First Council of Seville (Iberian Peninsula, AD 590) forbids clergy to have non-related women in their houses and allows secular judges to sell such women.
III

Mulieres vero illae iuxta priores canones a sacerdote distractae, pretium earum indigentibus dispensetur.

Canon 3

On clerics who live with women

Among other things you shall know what we decreed to erase clerical flaws, namely that if presbyters, deacons, or other clerics, having been admonished by their bishop (sacerdotis sui admonitionem), do not end their relationships with non-related women or with female servants, judges can arrest these women with the permission of the bishop and sell them for their own profit (in suis lucris usurpent), so that this vice which could not be overpowered by the bishop will be corrected by the judicial power. The judges, however, have to give an oath to the bishop that they will not give these women back to the clerics. If these judges were to do that, they should be excommunicated. If, however, the women are taken [from the clerics] by the bishop, the profit from their sale should be distributed to the poor.
