namely that those who are placed in the divine ministry could have a proper substance from the place in which they serve. We also consider this seemly that the temple of the divine religion is decorated everyday with lamps and that the fund we have granted by the present donation should never run out for the [necessities] which would come after some time like patching up the roof and other reparations. For these things we provide the fitting resources so that our service might deserve the propitiation of God. Driven by this consideration, by the force of the present page to the church in massa Cornutanensis, which belongs to our estate and which I myself has founded and established with God's favour and help, I donate the estates: Paternus maranus, Mons Paternus, Casa Martis, Vegetes that is Casa Proiectici, and the estate Batilianum with the exception of Sigillosa, the daughter of Anastasius and Pica, colons, whom we have been keeping and keep in our estate, which are in the province of Picenum, in the Tiburtine territory to be possessed purely and directly as the donations with everything that pertains to them and with all rights and provisions provided with them, just as I now possess them, but also with all charges and necessities of their profession, which for sure is the sustainment of the praedia formensia [the farms through which run the aqueducts].
We also donate to this church the grounds on which it is built with the surrounding area and we separate it from the lands belonging to the aforementioned praetorium and we offer it to create the gardens and houses for the clerics and guardians: that is from the valley of the arch which leads to the praetorium, and then by the walls which run in front of the praetorium and encompass the area of the church beyond the apse; and by these walls through the fence which surrounds the gardens of the tenants who stay in the praetorium, and this fence descends and turns at a right angle to reach the valley road and the bank which goes to the aforementioned arch, so that between the fence and the valley road behind the apse the aforementioned clerics could have gardens.
