Canon 6 of a council held at an unknown place in Gaul shortly after 614 decrees that in the monastery no one can be baptized, no mass can be said for a dead layman, and no layman can be buried without the local bishop`s permission.

That in the confines of the monastery no one should be baptized, nor masses for dead laymen be celebrated, nor bodies of laymen be buried there, unless with the permission of the pontiff.

The acts of this council survived only in the codex Berolinensis Phillippis 1743, s. VIII, f. 300v. They are not titled. The only clue to their origin is the fact that they refer to the decrees of the Fifth Council of Paris (Gaul, AD 614), see, for example, [1595]. The text is in some places severely damaged.
