Discussion:

We do not know whether the clergy and the monks from the East travelled to Rome to complain to Simplicius, or did they only write to him. In the same year, Simplicius addressed his Letter 4 to the presbyters and archimandrites of Constantinople (ed. Thiel 1868: 183-186). Simplicius refers to information got from the presbyters and monks in his Letter 7 to Acacius (AD 477, ed. Thiel 1868: 189).
