This epitaph contains the testament of the great Christian Teodulfus the kind, who once, in his time, was a presbyter and now dwells with Christ. He performed good deeds and rejected the bad. On the fifth day before the Kalends of February, he migrated to Christ. Whoever reads it, may he pray for him.

This epitaph was found in Ventabren, a village lying 14 km west of Aix-en-Provence. It was mentioned in the beginning of the 20th century by Gérin-Ricard and Arnaud D`Agnel, and is now lost. Guyon has recently considered it authentic and proposed a new transcription. He dated the inscription to the 7th or, possibly, late 6th century.
