Canon 21 of the Third Council of Orléans (Gaul, AD 538) leaves it to the decision of the bishop whether the city cleric appointed to the monastery, parish, or basilica should retain some of his previous revenue.
Canon 21

De his uero clericorum personis, que de ciuitatinsis ecclesiae officio monastiria, deiocesis uel basilicas in quibuscumque locis positas, id est siue in terreturiis siue in ipsis ciuetatebus, suscipiunt ordenandas, in potestate sit episcopi, si de id, quod ante de ecclesiastico munere habebant, eos aliquid aut nihil exinde habere uoluerit, quia unicuique facultas suscepti monastirii, deiocisis uel baselecae debet plena ratione suffecere.

(ed. de Clercq 1963: 122)
Canon 21

Concerning those clerics who were appointed from the city church to serve in monasteries, parishes (deiocesiae) or basilicas wherever they would be located, that is both in countryside and in the cities, it is up to the will of the bishop whether he permits them to  retain something from the ecclesiastical revenue they had previously collected  or not. For whatever livelihood he will be granted from the monasteries, parishes, or basilicas should more than suffice.

Title: The Third Council of Orléans, Concilium Aurelianense III anno 538
Origin: Orléans (Gaul)
Denomination: Catholic/Nicene/Chalcedonian
This council convened on 7 May 538 in Orléans gathered five metropolitans, fourteen other bishops, and seven presbyters representing their bishops. They all came from the kingdoms of Childebert I or Theuderic I. No bishop from the kingdom of Clothar I participated. Apart from the Council of Agde (AD 506), this is the only one from this period that gathered a metropolitan bishop from every region represented in the synod by a bishop or a presbyter. The council was presided by metropolitan bishop of Lyon, all of whose suffragans were present. Similarly, all bishops from the metropolitan province of Rouen attended the synod.
